October 9, 2012 - Looking for Laptops!
By_____________________________________________________________________________
San Diego, CA – Just Call Us Volunteers, in conjunction with the Foundation for Women, is looking for used laptops to refurbish and send to Liberia. The laptops will be used by college and secondary school scholarship recipients, as well as government officials and Foundation employees to run the Foundation’s microcredit program. We are ideally looking for PCs with Microsoft software for Word.
The Foundation for Women, a 501(c)3 nonprofit located in San Diego and Liberia, gives loans to women in poverty to start their own businesses and break out of the cycle of economic desperation. The Foundation also offers business support services and educational support services to women entrepreneurs depending on their needs.
More than 17 million women are living in poverty today. According to the Foundation’s CEO, Deborah Lindholm, “We are really at the tipping point. We need real solutions for the women and families at the margins of our society worldwide. We encourage everyone to join our campaign to alleviate global poverty!”
Your contribution can help us changes the lives of women living in poverty in Liberia. Donated laptops can help women and family member complete school assignments, do research on the Internet, or keep important records. It can be the technology lifeline that makes the difference between success and failure.
If you have a used laptop you’d like to donate or can help us refurbish donated computers, we’d love to hear from you! Please contact Julie Darling at [email protected]. 619-306-2765.
