Just Call Us Volunteers Appoints New Board Members
BySAN DIEGO (Feb. 22, 2013) – Just Call Us Volunteers (JCUV) announced the appointment of Lorelei Brittain, Paul Contrereas, Margaret Haas, David Nagle and Dawn Parks to its Board of Directors.
“I am thrilled to have these five dedicated and energetic individuals as part of this organization,” said Julie Darling, JCUV’s founder and president. “They bring a great deal of talent, experience and passion to JCUV and our mission to serve the underserved of San Diego.”
Lorelei Brittain is JCUV’s newly appointed Volunteer Coordinator. Lorelei, an active duty U.S. Marine Corps staff sergeant stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, has been affiliated with JCUV since November 2011.
Paul Contrereas was appointed as Information Systems/Technical Advisor. Paul has been associated with JCUV since 2008. He is a real estate agent for Slavens Realty in Chula Vista, Calif. and co-founder of Urban Plantations, which specializes in the design, installation and care of edible landscaping.
Margaret Haas is JCUV’s newly appointed secretary. Margaret is a retired English as a Second Language instructor from the San Diego Community College District. She earned a culinary arts certificate at Grossmont College and has volunteered at JCUV in a variety of roles since 2010.
David Nagle was appointed as JCUV’s Vice President and Public Relations Director. Dave, a retired Navy senior chief petty officer with more than 20 years of communications and public relations experience, has been associated with JCUV since December 2011. He currently works in Washington DC as a senior communications analyst for Vox Optima, LLC, a national public relations firm.
Dawn Parks was appointed as Consulting Chef. Dawn, a chef with more than 15 years of culinary and management experience, is Executive Chef and Owner of The Wild Thyme Company, a customized catering, event planning and wedding specialist company in San Diego.
