Just Call Us Volunteers has been serving meals to the underserved of San Diego since 2006 and in 2010 received our 501(c)3 non-profit designation. Steadily growning our efforts and our volunteer base, last year we served over 6000 meals to the homeless and provided nearly 500 volunteers an opportunity to give back to our community.

Please join us to raise funds for Just Call Us Volunteers so that we may continue our efforts to feed the homeless and support other under-served members of our community.

Big thanks to Manchester Grand Hyatt and their generous employees for the 1080 pounds of donated turkey with stuffing, cranberry sauce and baking pans.  Also, huge thanks to McKean Defense Group, Sentek Global, Specialty Produce and Sprouts Farmers Market for their continued support and significant donations to help Just Call Us Voluteers feed San Diego’s homeless at the San Diego City Winter Shelter, Metro Hotel and residents of the Veterans Village of San Diego.  The Thanksgiving and Christmas special holiday meals we will serve are only possible thanks to these corporate donors, their employees and our always amazing and tireless volunteers. Tis the season, as they say and we are excited and ready cook!!!

Last year, KUSI featured Just Call Us Volunteers during Thanksgiving 2011. To see more of what we do, please watch this video from last Thanksgiving.

July 31, 2011 – Serving Fish Tacos to the Homeless

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

We love love love to roll out our portable griddles and cook on-site to feed the homeless. Watch this video to see our wonderful volunteers cooking and serving fresh and nutritious fish tacos, refried beans, spanish rise, green salad and dessert at the Neil Good Day Center in downtown San Diego, California. It is a delicious meals for those we serve and a fun meal for the volunteers. Looks almost like a block party atmosphere! Big thank you to our generous corporate donors, Catalina Offshore Products and Specialty Produce. Without their support, none of this would be possible.
