Dec 2009 - Sharing this email from Janice Izor of the Alpha Project expressing thanks to our volunteers for the great meal we prepared and served on Christmas Day, 2009, at the San Diego Winter Shelter and Metro Hotel in downtown San Diego, California. We also made and delivered 200 blankets and scarves - which is a new fun thing to do with all of that extra time when we are not chopping veggies or cooking 30 plus turkeys and all that goes with that! Much love and thanks to Jaqueline Berry & Levi for renting the U-Haul and fetching the million yards of fabric from LA. You get bonus points for just making the drive with a U-Haul and then having the strength to cut up all of those squares to make blankets.
The Alpha Project does a great job running the Winter Shelter and Metro Hotel. Thank you, Alpha Project, for the hard work you do “every day!”.
Hi Everyone,
THANK YOU SO MUCH for providing such a wonderful Christmas Meal to our clients. They LOVED it!!! Again, I cannot tell you how much it means to all of us at Alpha Project and all of our clients to have you prepare a meal and serve it to everyone at the Metro and the Shelter. Also—
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for the blankets and scarves!! That was so nice of all of you to make these and hand them out. I know how much hard work went into getting everything done on time, and your efforts are greatly appreciated!
Our clients are still talking about how great Christmas was. Thank you for making this a Christmas for them to rememberJ
Blessings,
Janice Izor
